🐟🔥 John 21:1–19 – Jesus Appears to His Disciples by the Sea After His Resurrection, Jesus appears to seven of His disciples who had returned to fishing at the Sea of Tiberias. 🎣 They fish all night but catch nothing. At dawn, a man on the shore - Jesus, though they do not recognise Him - tells them to cast their nets on the other side. Suddenly, their net overflows with 153 large fish! 🐠✨ Realizing it is the Lord, Peter jumps into the water and rushes to Jesus. 🏃‍♂️🌊 On the shore, Jesus prepares a breakfast of bread and fish and invites them to eat. 🍞🐟 After the meal, Jesus gently restores Peter - who had denied Him three times - by asking, “Do you love me?” three times. Each time Peter replies yes, and Jesus responds: “Feed my lambs.” “Tend my sheep.” “Feed my sheep.” 🐑❤️ 📖 Reflection: This Gospel reminds us that Jesus continues to meet us in our ordinary lives. He calls us to follow Him, even when we fall short. 📣 They’re back! 🎉 The outstanding team from Zing Activ have returned to St Pat’s Guildford for an exciting term of Gymnastics with all our amazing students from Kindy to Year 6! 🤩🤸‍♀️🤸‍♂️ Today’s first lesson had everyone jumping into action — literally! 🦘💨 The focus was all about jumping and landing with control 🤓✅ and our students gave it their all with energy, enthusiasm and some seriously impressive take-offs! 🚀👏 📸 Check out some of the action from today’s session with Year 6 below! Even when doors are locked and hearts are full of fear, Jesus comes close and breathes new life and hope into them. 🙏 Like Thomas, we sometimes doubt. 🕊️✝️ With Deep Sadness, We Announce the Passing of Our Holy Father 💔🙏 It is with great sorrow that we share the news of the passing of our beloved Pope Francis, the shepherd of our global Catholic family. 🕯️🌍 Pope Francis died on Easter Monday, April 21, 2025, at the age of 88 at his residence in the Vatican's Casa Santa Marta. Pope Francis was a man of deep prayer, humility, and compassion—a true servant of Christ who led with love and inspired millions with his faith and message of peace. 🕊️❤️ At 9:45 AM, Cardinal Kevin Farrell, Camerlengo of the Apostolic Chamber, announced the death of Pope Francis from the Casa Santa Marta with these words: "Dearest brothers and sisters, with deep sorrow I must announce the death of our Holy Father Francis. At 7:35 this morning, the Bishop of Rome, Francis, returned to the house of the Father. His entire life was dedicated to the service of the Lord and of His Church. He taught us to live the values of the Gospel with fidelity, courage, and universal love, especially in favor of the poorest and most marginalized. With immense gratitude for his example as a true disciple of the Lord Jesus, we commend the soul of Pope Francis to the infinite merciful love of the One and Triune God." As a school community, we hold him in our prayers and ask God to welcome him into eternal life. 💧💚 Making Every Step Count at St Patrick’s Primary, Guildford! 💚💧 Our incredible students have taken part in Caritas Australia’s Project Compassion Big Water Walk, walking in solidarity with those who have no choice but to walk long distances for clean water. 🚶‍♂️🚶‍♀️ For a whole month, students walked 30 minutes every day, raising awareness and showing compassion in action. Together, they raised a fantastic $2,800 to help fight poverty and bring hope to communities in need. 🌏💧 This journey wasn’t just about walking — it was about faith, justice, and living out the Gospel message. "Whoever drinks the water that I give will never be thirsty again." – John 4:14 ✝️ A huge thank you to our school community and everyone who supported this initiative. Today, our Year 6 students had an unforgettable moment when Hon Jason Clare MP visited our school to personally deliver brand new Australian 🇦🇺 and Aboriginal 🖤❤️💛 flags! Earlier this term, our leaders noticed the old flags were worn and took the initiative to write to Mr Clare requesting new ones. To their surprise, he not only replied—but came in person to hand them over! ✉️📬🤩 A huge thank you to Mr Clare for his generosity, time, and encouragement.
